My contribution
My approach to research, analysis, design, testing and refinement across products and services.
Key decisions
Connect disciplines around a shared problem and use prototypes and evidence to work through trade-offs.
Delivery & outcome
A shared framework for project discussions and iteration across interfaces, physical products and connected services.

Give different disciplines
a shared problem to solve.

User needs, business priorities and technical capabilities can lead teams toward different answers. The challenge is to connect those perspectives early enough for design decisions to remain useful through development.

Make the reasoning visible.
Use evidence to move forward.

I clarify the purpose, context and requirements with the people whose work affects the experience. Research and customer journeys establish a shared view of the problem; concepts and prototypes make competing assumptions concrete enough to evaluate.

Testing and refinement keep the discussion connected to evidence as the direction develops. This gives the team a way to work through trade-offs and carry the reasoning from the brief into the product.

A common basis
for project decisions.

I use the framework to structure discussions and iteration across interfaces, physical products and connected services.

The individual cases show how research, prototypes and review connect the original problem with the resulting design direction.
