Character development · Identity, behavior and application concepts
- My contribution
- I connected character identity and intended vehicle use through shared references and review criteria.
- Key decisions
- Make identity and behavior explicit before expanding into scenes; connect variation review with the intended application.
- Delivery & outcome
- Reusable character references, pose and camera studies, and application concepts across four project groups.

Define an identity
that survives variation.
Each character project needed a distinct identity that could remain recognizable across poses, expressions and functional states. The challenge was to make a Panda, Lantern Lion, graphic drive-mode system and voice assistant useful as repeatable design systems rather than isolated images.
Agree on the reference.
Make review repeatable.
I established character identity and intended use as the basis for reviewing variations. A shared reference made proportions, features and behavior explicit enough to discuss before the character expanded into scenes and animation.
I connected expression, pose and camera studies with vehicle use cases. That gave each project a way to review consistency and judge whether the character supported its intended HUD, projection, drive-mode or assistant application.

A shared identity reference.
Proportions, features and intended behavior establish a common basis for reviewing the development.
Use-case review.
Pose and expression studies connect identity decisions with the vehicle application.
Reusable references
across four projects.
The work produced character references and application studies for Dongfeng/Huawei Panda, M-HERO Model B Lantern Lion, M-HERO M18-3 graphic characters and the X700 voice assistant. Applications include HUD and projection concepts, drive modes, scenes and assistant states.
The pose and camera studies provide reusable references for the motion pipeline. The gallery traces identity development through vehicle application concepts.
